As you must know by now, the owner of this site is a Christian, and is also a watchman. What is a watchman? It is a growing contingent of Christian students of God's Holy Word, that study end-time prophecy along side history and current events, and seek to find truth in reliable interpretation. Our journey takes us into realms that many find uncomfortable. One must constantly scrutinize the events of past and present, no matter how bizarre, through the lense of scripture to gain proper prophetic insight. Many falter, many stumble and stray off the trail. It is a journey not for the faint of heart. But the pilgrim is ultimately blest: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Rev 1:3(KJV) Many are the hazards of a watchman, anyone who has served in the military or held a security job before know this. The watchman is the first-line of defense. His only job is to be vigilant, and to raise the alarm in the event of danger. As such, he is the target of stealth attacks. Enemies seek to silence the watchman so the people cannot know of what danger they are in until it's too late. The forces of evil seek to destroy a watchman through any means possible, but a particularly effective attack comes from within the walls. This has been called by war experts, a fifth column attack. In terms of the body of beleivers of Christ, many attacks come through well-meaning unsuspecting individuals who may see the watchman as being a little eclectic and unbalanced or even, heretical. Others are simply wolves in sheep's clothing. We find parallels for this through out scripture, eg.; the prophets being murdered by their own people. This continues in the new testament, with the crucifixion of Christ, and the martyrdom of the early Church beleivers. One of the common characterizatons of a watchman in today's cosmopolitan society is that he/she is a conspiracy theorist. I should like to point out that the Apostle Paul was a watchman as well as a beleiver in a secret conspiracy: For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming; 2 Thess. 2:7-8(ASV) Paul beleived, through divine revelation, that a cosmic conspiracy was well underway in his day.
