The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Pro 18:10

Welcome

Greetings Traveller.

elcome to The Citadel, a safe haven from the bitter cold. Give thy cloak and armour to the chamberlain and pull up close to the fire. Don't worry about a thing. The lads will take good care of thy steed. If we are not here, please leave a message on the Message Board, or you can email us. Please be sure to sign the guest book. When we return from questing, we shall be sure to answer your queries. Feel free to wander the halls, honored guest. Please excuse our dust though, as we are ever changing and adding to The Citadel. Return to visit from time to time as Lady Rhenda and I love the fellowship of friends. Also you will want to see the new additions as we are able to add them. Until we meet, walk well friend!

Some New Changes Nov 12, 2005
Chat Room Down Aug 28, 2004
New Flash Menu Aug 28, 2004
Website Updates Aug 20, 2004
Iron Hat Communications

ell, but for a lag in the process of getting this website updated, we are forging ahead. As you may have noticed, there have been a few fundamental changes in The Citadel since the last news update. First and foremost, is the new host and domain. At the eleventh hour we decided to change the name of our web presence from Iron Hat Communications, to Digital Forge Productions. We just felt that it was more representative of what we are trying to achieve on the web.

The Citadel remains one of our earliest attempts at web design, and also remains our testbed for anything new we are trying out... for the most part. To that end, with the move to Digital Forge Productions, we have converted the entire code for The Citadel from html to php. This streamlines and modularizes the code so it should load faster and will be easier to maintain and update. With the move to php, we also have plans to gradually make The Citadel into a more dynamic website. As always we will take what we learn it and put it to good use elsewhere.

Some of the new features that accompany this move include a Blog (The main Digital Forge website), a completely new message board, the Tower of Paladins, and hopefully, a fresh new update of interesting and informative content and links.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this site, and the limited time available to work on it, this will remain, for the most part, a static website for the short term future. We have great plans, which are outlined on the Info Page in greater detail. But for now, we hope you enjoy a stroll about the new place, and check back often.

ad to say, it apparently Chat Planet, our chat server, has gone MIA. If you have tried to logon and just seen the gray square, you are not alone. They must have completely taken down the site, as we get the all too familiar 404 errors when we try to go to the site. As of now, we are removing the code from the Chat page. We will leave the page intact while we quest for other chat hosts. Hopefully this wont't take very long. We humbly apologize for any inconvenience.

***NOTE***

Subsequent to this posting, The Rounde Table is back online under a different host. Our old dear friend Bravenet has a free chat hosting service, and we elected to use it. (at least for now) I know, more popups and ads, but hey, beggars can't be choosers can they? If we find something better, we'll surely make the switch!

s promised, our new handy-dandy, nifty-neat Flash powered main menu has arrived. Actually it was created a while back, but as with many other things, we were sitting on it while waiting to unveil the massive site upgrade. Well, we decided to go ahead and use it anyways, while working on an even BETTER one for the new site. If you are not seeing it at the top of the page, one of two things is happening. Either it's still loading (no preloader yet), or you don't have the Flash viewer plugin. You can get it quickly and easily at Adobe's download site. If it still isn't working, or you don't want to fool with it, you can still use the small navigation menu at the bottom of each page.

pdates have been admittedly slow in coming to The Citadel lately. Excuses abound, but when you have everyday concerns to consider, it cuts into time for the things one likes to do. Anyways, there are a few updates to announce. Mostly we have revised some of the artwork on some of the pages. These will be accessed through the map section. One of our goals is to eliminate canned art work that we have found on the web. We are grateful to those who have helped us out thus far, but we want to create website of our own creation. It is to this end we endeavor.

We have announced on the message board that we intend a massive refit complete with domain and paid web hosting. The work towards this continues to be done in the background. The work to be done is massive, and we have determined to continue upgrading this site in the meantime. When we are ready, we will go live with the updated New and Improved Version. Till then, please bear with us.

As you can see, we have rearranged the main page here, so hopefully it makes a bit more sense. We have also added the News Index so we can easily add news notes more easily. Thanks for visiting, and please do stop by every now and again.

he time has come. Iron Hat Communications has finally opened it's cyber-doors for business. What are we about? We are a family owned and operated small communications and media company. To sum it up, we are concerned with Christian publications. Initially we are offering our web design services to individuals, churches, or businesses. As we must pay our bills, we must continue to work regular jobs. As such we will only be able to work on projects on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in commissioning us, you should email us. Please describe what you would like to see, favorite colors, and what sections you would like included in your site. Also if there are any websites you have visited that you would like to emulate, please include links to them.

Secondly, as budding writers we will offer articles and samples of our literary work. We will also publish, again on a case-by-case basis, works from other contributing authors. We are also well connected in the print media industry. We are exploring the possibilities of being involved in both the electronic and paper puplishing arena's

Since we haven't much content to store in a corporate website at this time, we have elected to combine it with our personal website. This will of course change over time as both sites grow. To inaugurate this event, we redesigned The Citadel in order to display our growing web skills. The coding was done by hand utilizing only AceHTML Pro. The graphic elements as pertains to the formatting of the overall website was done with Paint Shop Pro. Much of the clip art has been used from clipart sites, or things I've found about the web. Our apologies go out to the authors of art not properly credited for our use. Many of these were obtained long ago and the contact information is lost. If you see some of your art used here, please let us know, so we can either render proper credit, or remove it.

Webmeister's Notes

ell, life on the road continues to be challenging! Sir Alain packs his trusty laptop computer pretty much wherever he goes, so Digital forge Productions can go forward. Driving trucks and web design don't always make good bedfellows, but we are making the best of it. At this time, some moves are afoot that will facilitate a simpler lifestyle, and hopefully, more time to devote to studies and web design.

Lady Rhenda is once again gearing up for homeschooling our two boys. She has become somewhat of a resident expert at home schooling, and can testify out that it's not as horrendous as it might seem. She currently presides over a local homeschooler's group. We also have a database of internet resources she has found. It can be found here. This list is in a constant state of flux, as new links arrive and bad ones are culled out. Hopefully you can find something useful there if you homeschool. She also is an excellent chef, and has tremendous amounts of recipe's. We also plan to open a recipe exchange eventually.

As for the web publishing side of the house, Sir Al has just about eliminated all those areas of The Citadel under construction. As is outlined on the Info Page, There is much to report, and still much yet to do. If you have been with us through this journey, we hope you have enjoyed the trip so far as much as we have. We also hope you will continue to travel with us.

Thanks for visiting, and don't be a stranger!
